National History

THE SOCIETY, INCORPORATED, SUPPORTING THE ARTS
is a non-profit national organization dedicated to enhancing, exposing, and promoting youth in the Arts for the betterment of our communities. Our membership consists of hundreds of dynamic, dedicated and professional women of color. Founded 37 years ago in Washington, D.C., we now have 30 chapters in 15 states. We are bonded in friendship and service.

Through our chapters, we hope our impact will:
Produce sustainable Arts programming nationwide that fill critical gaps in traditional access points to artistic pathways for talented youth.

Local History

Sisters of the Arts-NSQ, New York, is a chapter of the national organization. The Society, Incorporated Supporting the Arts, which serves youth in Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens Counties and surrounding communities. Members of the chapter are dedicated to the intellectual, social, and economic support of youth in the arts. We are committed to personal participation and involvement in cultural activities in our communities. Our group comprises artists, executive leaders, educators, social workers, business, finance, and not-for-professionals.

Empowering Youth Through the Arts

Sistersofthearts-NSQ, a proud member of The Society Incorporated, Supporting the Arts, is dedicated to empowering youth through the arts. Our mission is to provide enriching art experiences for junior high school through college students, fostering creativity, confidence, and connection.

Scholarship Opportunities

We give scholarships to graduating seniors who desire to continue their art education. The Sisters of the Arts, NSQ program has benefited students who participated and showed excellence in their artistic area by funding their creative interests.
